Lindsey Open House

IMPORTANT DATE: Lindsey's Open House is August 16, 2023. This is an opportunity to meet your child's teacher, visit stations around the school, and go on a scavenger hunt. This open house style meeting will be different from previous years.

Teacher assignments will be posted in Infinite Campus on Monday, August 14 at 3:00pm.

Teachers will be in their classrooms during their assigned times only, so please be sure to check the schedule.

All Lindsey students will be given a ticket to receive a frozen treat. Parents and siblings are invited to purchase treats from the ice cream truck. The ice cream truck is cash-only.

The Lindsey School Supply information can be found on the Lindsey Elementary webpage under Resources. Again this year, the majority of the student school supplies are included with your payment of school fees and will be provided to students on the first day of school. There are just a few items that will need to be brought from home. There are also some items listed as appreciated donations.

Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures

MORNING DROP-OFF:

Students will be allowed to enter the building beginning at 8:40 am. Buses drop off at front doors.

Parents dropping off in the morning must use the side parking lot. You will line up in 3 - 4 lines which will funnel into one line of seven cars that runs the length of the sidewalk. Students will exit your vehicle and be directed to walk down the sidewalk and enter through the front doors. Students may exit cars starting at 8:35 am as staff will be available to monitor students starting at that time.

Our goal is to have everyone unloaded and in classrooms by 8:50 am for classes to begin.

Please know that if your child elects to have breakfast at school, this will need to be efficient so that all students can get to class as quickly as possible.

AFTERNOON PICK-UP:

Parents picking up their child in the afternoon must use the side parking lot. Vehicles will form three lines that funnel into one line along the sidewalk. Students are released to the pick-up line at 3:20 pm.

If your student is not an every day car rider, it is important that a parent/guardian completes the End of Day Transportation Form found on the Lindsey webpage each day that there is a change to the normal schedule. This will make the end of day procedure the most efficient so that teachers know where to release your child. Please complete the form before 9:30 am on the day of your pick-up. Please no phone calls or emails to the main office with changes unless it is an emergency.

If your students needs to be released early from school, select that option on the End of Day Transportation form. Students should be picked up by 2:45 pm.

Nurse's Note

Medications at school:

Students who require medications while at school (prescription and over the counter) MUST have a Medication Administration form completed by a physician and signed by their parents. You must complete one form per medication. The form is linked in this paragraph and can also be found on the district webpage under Parents > Forms.

Once complete, email the form to the nurse (lisa.berardinelli@westg.org)or fax to 440-729-5989.

All medication must be dropped off by a parent or guardian.

Students who self-carry medication (epi-pens, inhalers, or diabetic medications) must have these forms completed and turned in, in order to carry the medication with them. For additional information follow the link. https://www.westg.org/o/wgls/page/health-services
