Dear Lindsey Families,
We started our week with the buzz and excitement around the eclipse. It was truly spectacular! We ended our week with an assembly celebrating upstanders, attendance accolades, and gearing up for testing excitement.
This week we had two drills - a Tornado Drill and our a Safety Drill. (You received an email about the Safety Drill on Wednesday, 4/10/24.)
Attention 5th Grade Families: A video and information about maturation will be shared with families mid-May. You can preview the video and information before watching it with your child. This will allow you to decide what to share and when.
For the remainder of the year I will spotlight one of the rules from our Parent Student Handbook in each building newsletter.
RULE 15: DAMAGE, THEFT, OR UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY: A student shall not cause or attempt to damage or steal private property or possess without authorization any such property on school premises during a school activity, function, or event off school grounds.
Engagement Scenario: Nigel sees a cool looking pencil case he's been wanting. Nobody is looking, so he takes it out of a peer's desk and slides it into his backpack. Later that day the peer announces his pencil case is missing. What should Nigel do?
Questions to Discuss: Should Nigel fess up immediately? What would his friends do or say? Should he lie about it? What would happen when it's discovered he lied and has the pencil case? What would his friends think then?
Sincerely,
Melissa Becerra, Principal

Headphones: Spring testing is coming up and every student needs to have set of working headphones to take the test. Please check with your child and make sure they have personal headphones and they are in working condition to use during the test. This is something that we do not supply at the beginning of the year.
The spring Ohio State Tests (OST) are approaching. Please read below for details, dates, and reminders:
It is essential that all students report to school on time for testing days, as students who arrive after testing has begun will not be permitted to enter the testing room.
Each test will begin at the start of the day, either at 9:00 or 9:30 am.
If arriving late, students will be required to make up their missed test(s) on another day.
The testing schedule will change some Specials and lunch/recess times. Your child’s teacher will communicate any schedule changes.
Please remember that a good night’s rest and hearty breakfast will help your child to achieve their personal best.
