Dear Lindsey Families,
It was wonderful to see all of those who attended the "Rock the Block" tailgate event last Friday. Stay tuned for upcoming events that bring our school and our community together. These newsletters (twice a month) and the school's website provide a wealth of information.
We just wrapped up MAP testing earlier this week. I will print off the Family Reports and we will put them in sealed envelopes to be sent home with students. Reports are planned to go home the end of next week.
We recently started our literacy challenge, "Tales to Tails - Catch the Reading Bug." Each student met with his/her ELA teacher and set a goal for how many books to read this quarter. The number of books and the type of books is personal and private. When a student reads a book a circular info card is filled out and is then added to the caterpillar's body. Watch our caterpillar grow throughout the hallways while our literacy skills grow!
Sincerely,
Melissa Becerra, Principal

Monday Munchies
Monday Munchies is a great way to show our appreciation for our R.C. Lindsey Elementary teachers and staff. We're asking YOU to provide 3-4 dozen treats. Decadent or nutritious, homemade or purchased with love, the choice is yours. Thank you for making Mondays a little more enjoyable!
Popcorn Thursdays are making a comeback at Lindsey and you butter believe we're popping with excitement! Popcorn Thursdays will occur on a monthly basis. Students will have an opportunity to purchase a bag of popcorn after they have completed their lunch. Popcorn is $.50/bag (cash/coins), or you can purchase a pass for a one-time cost of $3 that covers the entire year.
To purchase a pass for a Lindsey student, pop over to this CheddarUp link: Popcorn pass
If you're as excited as we are, then come lend a hand! This is a fun way to help out and see your kiddo during lunchtime. Volunteer sign-up is now available for September 21st.
