Dear Lindsey Families,
What a crazy two weeks! Snow, cold, no heat, and ice days coming so close to each other were something else! It sure was great seeing everyone's smiling faces (some tired ones, too) on Wednesday. With each day off our MAP testing schedule was changed. We'll finish up next week with 5th Grade MAP Science on Monday, and make ups the rest of the week. As soon as the tests are complete, reports will be printed and sent home. I'll send you an email the day before they're going home so that you know to expect them.
In a few short days our visiting author is coming to Lindsey. Please read further below for more information.
Upcoming Event for Lindsey CARES: We are collecting warm items such as sweatshirts, sweatpants, socks, and throws for local veterans. Our collection started on 1/8/24 and will go through 2/5/24. A flyer about this action is further below.
Sincerely,
Melissa Becerra, Principal

Local author and illustrator, Liliana Leone, is coming to visit Lindsey in person on Wednesday, 1/31/24! She will present to each grade level in an interactive format, covering the inspiration for her characters and ideas for creative writing -- all while incorporating some Italian, Spanish and French languages and historical facts. Her books can be ordered through her website (see below flier) until 2/5/24. The flier explains how you can get 25% off and get the books autographed! There is a link below the flier that connects to the author's website for ordering. The program is called "All Around the World." Mrs. Murry will discuss the author, her books, and some fun facts during Library class.
The ESCWR runs the West Geauga preschool program for children ages 3-5 years, which includes both special needs students and typical peer role models. They currently have an afternoon preschool program for West Geauga families and have opened a morning session that we wanted to let everyone know about. They have the capacity of accepting 8 more role models and 6 more special needs students at this time. With this expansion, they would like to let more families know of this opportunity. Please contact Wendy Bartolovich at wbartolovich@escwr.org for more information.
