Dear Lindsey Families,

Happy November! We're back to having school every Friday!

Halloween was a blast! We had great weather for the parade and the class parties were fun! Thank you to the PTO for arranging such a fun day!

Class Spotlight - We received great feedback about Class Spotlights with the last newsletter. Each newsletter will contain 1-3 pictures of our classrooms in action with a caption written by students.

Attendance is a top priority in our building as we strive to keep families informed about chronic absenteeism, defined as missing over 10% of the school year (18 days in a 180-day year). We’ll be sharing updates on attendance metrics and emphasizing how essential consistent attendance is for students’ academic success. First quarter is off to a great start! Lindsey's chronic absenteeism is at 6%, and our attendance rate for quarter 1 is at 96.75%, about 3% higher than this time last year! Thank you to students and families for supporting attendance!

4th Grade CogAT - All 2nd grade and 4th grade students' cognitive screening will be on the following dates in November, with the state approved Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). 

• 2nd graders: November 18-19

• 4th graders: November 13-14 

Bus Gotchas - Last week we started a bus incentive program. Bus drivers are giving out Bus Gotcha stickers to students who are demonstrating safe and respectful behavior. Ms. Titgemeier and Mrs. Becerra held a bus program with each grade level (bus riders) and explained the program. Students who get Bus Gotchas are entered in a drawing. Each week 10 names are randomly drawn to receive a prize. Let's keep our buses rolling with safety and respect! (See the picture further below.)

Veterans Day - Lindsey's annual Veteran's Day ceremony will be held Monday, November 11th at 9:00am. Lindsey families of attending veterans are welcome. Students are encouraged to read wear red, white, and blue.
