Dear Lindsey Families,
I hope you stayed warm this week!
In the last newsletter I mentioned that pictures of Lunch with a Loved One would be in the next newsletter. Please see further below to view the loving fun!
Winter Checkpoints - This week all students took an ELA checkpoint. The Math benchmark will be next week to all students. The checkpoints resemble the state test and provide information for teachers to guide their instruction. Please see further below for more information and dates.
Girls on the Run - We have some more slots open for the Spring team so we are opening it up to 3rd graders. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. What a great way to increase self confidence and physical activity. The flyer is further below.
Sincerely,
Melissa Becerra, Principal

Teachers use assessment data to guide instruction. MAP, ELA Benchmarks, Math Benchmarks, and Checkpoints provide teachers insight as to how students are independently applying the strategies being taught in the classroom. These assessments will be given in the same manner as the ELA Benchmark students took prior to winter break. The tentative dates for these assessments are below.
Mrs. Weisbarth, the MS Counselor, visited our 5th graders last week. She spoke about expectations, courses, and the start time! Information went home last week (W 2/12/25).
Below is the link to order a yearbook for your student. The sale is only open through March 31, so please place your order by the deadline. We will not order extras this year. Please email Maryann Rodin with any questions at maryann.rodin@westg.org.
Please make sure you include your students name during the ordering process.

Dress Warm for School
Winter weather has arrived and all students should come to school dressed appropriately. Remember to check the weather and dress accordingly.
Going outside is determined on a day by day basis with weather conditions considered. All students should be prepared to go outside everyday with the proper attire, which includes snow boots and snow pants if playing in the snow. Please send an extra pair of socks to keep in your child's book bag just in case snow gets into boots.
Appropriate dress for these cold days include hats, boots, snow pants, warm jackets, layers, scarves, and gloves or mittens for students to safely be outside for any period of time, whether it is walking to school, playing outside at recess or just running to and from the car at arrival and dismissal. It is important that children don't leave the house with exposed skin (ears, hands, legs, etc.) as this increases the chance of frostbite.
Please call the school if you need information or referrals to agencies that can help your family secure winter clothing. We want all students to be comfortable while enjoying these brisk winter days.
No Crocs or sweatshirts should be worn as outerwear during winter weather.
We have lots of lost and found items. Please make sure all of your child’s winter wear has his/her name on the inside.
School fees are now overdue. Please check Infinite Campus portal to see if you have any outstanding fees with the school. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 440-729-5980. You can pay online or by check made payable to West Geauga Local Schools. Thank you,
Your Here Comes the Bus feedback is important and we encourage you to share your experiences, both positive and negative. Please use this link to provide your feedback: Here Comes the Bus Experience Feedback.
