Principal News

Dear Middle School Families,

We are eager to welcome our Middle school students back on Monday, August 21, 2023. We hope you had a wonderful summer and are excited to return.

There have been some minor changes to schedules and room locations to help balance class sizes--especially physical education and study halls. Please have your child look at their schedule in Infinite Campus before Monday to ensure they are prepared for the day. Should you have any schedule question, feel free to contact our school counselor, Mrs. Lindsey Weisbarth at lindsey.weisbarth@westg.org

On the first day of school, please remind your child to go to their 7th period class to grab their chromebook that will be assigned by their teacher.

Please mark your calendars for school pictures that will take place on September 8, 2023. Athletic pictures will be on September 6, 2023.

The Great Geauga County Fair is almost upon us! On Thursday, August 31, our 6th graders will get a chance to take their first field trip to the fair through Geauga Learn. This is the day when WG will face off against Kenston in the chicken flying event. West G won last year, and we’d love to win again! If your 6th grader raises chickens for the fair, please send an email to Mrs. Edwards by August 25th. We will make our decision which chicken to use on Monday, August 28th.

The daily breakfast and lunch menu can be found on the Middle School webpage by clicking the Dining link, or through the West G app. The cost for a Middle School Meal is $3.75.

Lindsey Weisbarth - Guidance

Hi! My name is Lindsey Weisbarth and I am the new school counselor! I am excited to meet all of the students and ready to kick off a great school year. Alyssa Martin - English/Language Arts

Hello! I'm an established English teacher who has taught both locally in Chagrin Falls and out of state in both Georgia and Michigan. I am a Kent State graduate and earned my MA at Wayne State University in Detroit. As a mom of four kids, I enjoy family time, nature, and fostering animals for Rescue Village. I'm looking forward to a great year at West Geauga!
