End of Day Transportation
Please be sure to check Infinite Campus for bus information. Times may be adjusted as routes update.
Parents received their car visor and bus tags at the Open House and Kindergarten Kick-Off with detailed instructions. Please be sure your student has the appropriate tag on the first day of school. Contact the office if you have any questions at 440-729-5990 or still need a tag.
If your student is assigned to a bus in the afternoon, the office will assume your child is boarding that bus at the end of the day. If there is no bus assignment in Infinite Campus, the office will assume your student is a daily car rider in the pick-up line.
If there is any change to the regular end of day transportation, you must complete the End of Day Transportation Form to notify the main office where your child needs to go at the end of the day. This form is available and must be completed between 4:30 pm the night before and 9:30 am. Please do not complete the form more than one day before your transportation change.
Attendance:
Daily attendance is required. If your student will be absent, you must call the attendance line at 440-729-5991 with the reason your student will not be in school. Please make every effort to notify the office before 9:00 am so every student is accounted for in the building at the beginning of the day.
Medications at school:
Students who require medications while at school (prescription and over the counter) MUST have a Medication Administration form completed by a physician and signed by their parents. You must complete one form per medication. The form is linked in this paragraph and can also be found on the district webpage under Parents > Forms.
Once complete, email the form to the nurse (lisa.berardinelli@westg.org)or fax to 440-729-5989.
All medication must be dropped off by a parent or guardian.
Students who self-carry medication (epi-pens, inhalers, or diabetic medications) must have these forms completed and turned in, in order to carry the medication with them. For additional information follow the link. https://www.westg.org/o/wgls/page/health-services
MORNING DROP-OFF:
Students will be allowed to enter the building beginning at 9:00 am. Buses drop off at front doors.
Parents dropping off in the morning should refer to the map below. Students will exit your vehicle and be assisted into the building by staff.
Please know that if your child elects to have breakfast at school, this will need to be efficient so that all students can get to class as quickly as possible.
AFTERNOON PICK-UP:
Parents picking up their child in the afternoon can refer to the map below. Students are released to the pick-up line at 3:40 pm.
If your student is not an every day car rider, it is important that a parent/guardian completes the End of Day Transportation Form found on the Westwood webpage each day that there is a change to the normal schedule. This will make the end of day procedure the most efficient so that teachers know where to release your child. Please complete the form before 9:30 am on the day of your pick-up. Please no phone calls or emails to the main office with changes unless it is an emergency.
If your students needs to be released early from school, select that option on the End of Day Transportation form. Students should be picked up by 3:00 pm.
PTO is gearing up for a fun-filled year - but we need YOUR help! Please complete and submit this Google form by August 31st. We hope you'll consider joining in the fun by volunteering at various events throughout the year. Sign-ups for Room Coordinators and class party helpers for the entire school year will be sent via email on Thursday, September 7th @ 6 pm sharp. Only those individuals who have completed the above Google form will receive the email. If you have any questions, feel free to email PTO President Krista Kalina (pto.president.westwood@gmail.com).
