This week at Westwood Elementary School we had a visit from the Geauga West Rotary Club! Each 2nd-grade student was given a Dictionary courtesy of the club. The students were ecstatic as the club members presented and explained the different parts of the dictionaries. Thank you to the Rotary Club for continuing this wonderful program.
We are now into the 4th quarter of the year, and we have many fun and educational activities planned. Please note the Upcoming Events!
The West Geauga Spirit Shop is looking for 1 or 2 volunteers to co-chair the Spirit Shop for the upcoming school year. If you are interested in learning more, please email wgab.spiritshop@westg.org.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at jim.kish@westg.org or 440-729-5995.

On Tuesday, May 21st, the 2nd-grade students will have the opportunity to visit Lindsey Elementary and tour the building. This is taking place in the morning and transportation will be provided.
Parents of incoming 3rd graders (current 2nd Grade Parents) will also have an opportunity to visit Lindsey Elementary. There will be an informational parent night on May 21st at 6 PM at Lindsey, adults only, please. Similar to the presentation given to the 3rd graders, parents will learn about the grade level, and changes between Westwood and Lindsey, and will have an opportunity to ask questions.
Hello, Westwood Families!
Today we held grade-level PBIS assemblies. We recognized two students per grade level as our third quarter GRRR8 Wolverines. Any student who received one Pawsitive Referral during the third quarter was entered into a raffle to receive a GRRR8 Wolverine t-shirt!
The PBIS Assembly reinforced our behavior expectations (Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn). We also introduced the Gold Tray Game! Each week we will focus on one behavior expectation. The proctors will rotate around the cafeteria and issue points to classrooms displaying the expected behavior. At the end of the week, the classroom with the most points will receive a GOLD TRAY to display in their classroom and an extra recess with Mr. Kish and Mrs. Wisniewski. When the grade meets an overall point total the entire grade will receive a prize!
Continue to ask your students about how they earned Gotcha stickers and Pawstive Referrals. We are turning the corner to the end of the school year and there is so much to celebrate!
Take care!

Calling all bookworms! The BOGO Scholastic Book Fair returns April 24-26. Without the support of parent volunteers, PTO won't be able to continue offering programming and events such as this for the benefit of our children.
