Officer Scott visited 2nd-grade classrooms today to inform our students about the National Child Identification Program. An envelope will be coming home with each 2nd-grade student with information from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.
Each kit includes a Fingerprint card, a Medication information section, and a DNA section. This program is designed to give families an easy way to keep all this important information in one place for easy access in a time of need. Please know that the program is optional.
Please review the information with your child and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
RISING 3rd Graders (Current 2nd Graders)
On Tuesday, May 21st, the 2nd-grade students will have the opportunity to visit Lindsey Elementary and tour the building. This is taking place in the morning and transportation will be provided.
Parents of incoming 3rd graders (current 2nd Grade Parents) will also have an opportunity to visit Lindsey Elementary. There will be an informational parent night on May 21st at 6 PM at Lindsey, adults only, please. Similar to the presentation given to the 3rd graders, parents will learn about the grade level, and changes between Westwood and Lindsey, and will have an opportunity to ask questions.
Hello, Westwood Families!
Happy Spring!
This time of the year is a wonderful opportunity to do a PBIS Reboot. The first week we return from spring break we will remind our students of our three Rs (Respectful, Responsible, Ready to Learn) throughout our daily routines. We will highlight a new classroom incentive during our grade-level assemblies on Friday, April 5th. We look forward to additional opportunities to recognize our students for meeting our behavior expectations! Stay tuned for more information.
Take care!

2024-25 PTO Elections
It's hard to believe, but preparations are already underway for the 2024-25 school year. With that comes elections for the PTO Executive Committee, which will occur at our members' meeting on May 9th. The PTO serves as a liaison between the Westwood Elementary parents, students, teachers, and administration. Westwood has a history of a strong, goal-oriented PTO and it is important to our children that we continue this legacy. We are looking to fill next year's board with interested and dedicated parents who are committed to the ongoing well-being of our students, staff, and families. If you are interested in a board position or know someone who is worthy of nomination, please complete this Google Form no later than April 11th. If you have additional questions regarding officer positions or the election process, please contact our Nominating Committee at PTO.Westwood@gmail.com.
