THANK YOU to our Westwood Families for your support during our Westwood Walk. Also, a special THANK YOU to the Westwood PTO for all of your diligent work to make this a fantastic event for our students and families. I am incredibly pleased with all of the support!
It is difficult to imagine that the 1st quarter of the school year ends on October 20th. Our Westwood students demonstrate impressive growth as they work in their classrooms. Thank you for supporting our efforts nightly with your child. I love to hear about the books that are being read at home by our students. Please encourage your child to share these stories with me. Thank you for all that you do to support Westwood Elementary School.
Sincerely,
Jim Kish, Principal

Here are some reminders from Mrs. Berardinelli:
When to keep your student home from school:
Temperature >100.4 (Can return to school when fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication for 24 hours)
Vomiting (Can return to school when they have not vomited for 24 hours)
Diarrhea (Can return to school when they have had no diarrhea for 24 hours)
Officer Scott started the "Walk Safely, Arrive Safely" campaign a few weeks ago.
Our students have responded in the spirit of our PBIS program by being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn. Students have slowed down and are much safer due to this effort. Thank You, Officer Scott!!!
During the first month of school, Officer Scott has become a visible addition to our school. We thank him for his constant monitoring of our daily routines. Our students have become very familiar with him. It is common to see many hugs and high-fives as he circulates through the building and playgrounds!
Hello, Westwood Families!
I cannot believe October is right around the corner! As you and your child are chatting about the school day, I invite you to ask your child if they have a ‘trusted adult’ in the school building or the community. A trusted adult is a grown-up who is not a family member but someone they feel safe with because they are a dependable and caring person. Westwood Staff would like all students to identify a trusted adult and share that person's name with their families. Consider taking this conversation one step further by contacting a trusted adult so they can continue to support your child. Some of you may be trusted adults for the friends of your children, athletes on your teams, or members of clubs or scouts. Thank you for being an essential part of the Westwood community!
